CONVICTED FELON FROM GRANBURY, TEXAS, FACES UP TO 10 YEARS IN FEDERAL PRISON, WITHOUT PAROLE, FOR POSSESSING FIREARM FORT WORTH, Texas — Fred Ingerson, III, 50, of Granbury, Texas, pleaded guilty today in federal court to an Indictment charging one count of being a felon in possession of a firearm, announced Acting U.S. Attorney James T. Jacks of the Northern District of Texas. Ingerson, who is currently on personal recognizance bond, faces a maximum statutory sentence of 10 years in prison and a $250,000 fine. He is scheduled to be sentenced by U.S. District Judge Terry R. Means on October 26, 2009. According to documents filed in court today, Ingerson was a person of interest in a state investigation, which caused law enforcement, in late August 2008, to execute a search warrant at his home in Granbury. During the search, a Colt, .380 caliber pistol, which was owned by Ingerson, was seized. Documents filed further state that Ingerson is a convicted felon, having previously been convicted of forgery and theft. The case is being investigated by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives and the Granbury Police Department. Assistant U.S. Attorney Joshua T. Burgess is prosecuting. ### |
